Fitzroy SOUNDING Software
Fitzroy Sounding Readers is the most powerful literacy aid we have ever made. Especially for people who have never learned how to read phonically. It directly shows teachers and students how to SOUND OUT words - using a human voice.
The student can sit at the computer and hear the stories, click on any word they are not sure of, and have it SOUNDED OUT for them: unless of course it is a special word - in which case the word is spoken.
The student can:
- Hear a story, turning the page when they are ready.
- Click on a word to have it sounded out.
- Play various activities relating to each story.
- Re-write the story themselves: save, edit, update and print.

Fitzroy Talking Readers Software
Fitzroy Talking Readers is similar to the Fitzroy Sounding Readers but does not involve SOUNDING OUT the words. This is for use by teachers, tutors and students who are working withing the whole word style of literacy training.
The student can sit at the computer and hear the stories, click on any word they are not sure of, and have it pronounced for them in a human voice.
The student can:
- Hear a story, turning the page when they are ready.
- Click on a word to have it spoken.
- Play various activities relating to each story,
- Re-write the story themselves: save, edit, update and print.
This software covers the same range of vocabulary as the Fitzroy Sounding Readers, but uses a whole word approach.

The Fitzroy Word Families are great for extra spelling and word-forming practice. These work books are specially created for students who are confused about spelling. They contain no rules or explanations, but simply present one family of words per day. These words have the same spelling. The student learns by sheer association which words are spelled the same as which.
