"A great day – intense but greatly informative. Gives a sense of ‘Yes – I can do this and do it well for my students."

Using the same basic letter sounds, digraphs and special words, the X-series reinforces and expands on material learned in Readers 1-10. Soon even longer words are no problem.
Young learners forget information unless it’s repeated. The X-Series repeats and practices old special words.
Children need to be able to recognize different fonts. Bit by bit, they become familiar with the most common types.
In the X-series, longer words are fun and easy to read. Just use information already learned in the Reader 1-10.
Using only words that can be sounded out and a few special words, children still advance quickly.

Readers 11-20 systematically introduce many new digraphs (e.g sh and er). Used together with the basic letter sounds (a for apple, b for bat etc.), they enable students to effortlessly decode large numbers of words.
Readers 11-20 keep things simple and introduce only one new digraph (e.g. sh) per reader. This makes for sure and steady progress.
Here we introduce the first 3-letter digraph. To aid memory it is used many times throughout the Reader.
Single-letter new sounds like y as in by or e as in he are also taught. This helps children read many common words.
All new sounds (e.g. ar as in Mars) and special words (like space) are learned in the context of a story. This makes them easy to remember.

Readers 21-30 continue to build step-by-step on the information learnt in Readers 1-20. Every Reader is only slightly more advanced than the one before it, meaning your child will always be able to cope with all new material. In this way, progress is smooth, steady and angst free.
Reader 21 teaches the new sound ch. As usual, we use it many times throughout the story to make it more memorable: e.g. chop, chin and lunch.
Notice how the Readers gradually grow in complexity. By this stage, children are already starting to read with confidence.
